Accommodation: Where I stayed In Thailand

Airbnb Apartment Bangkok

When looking for places to stay in Thailand you are not stuck for choice! We tried to mix it up a little and stay at hotels, guest houses and also our favourite; Airbnb rentals! Thailand does not lack accommodation options, the hardest part is narrowing the search down! Here is a run down of each and every place I stayed at, the price, the good and the bad!

Airbnb Apartment Bangkok

Airbnb Apartment Bangkok View.

Being my first time in Bangkok and my obsession with Airbnb, we decided to opt for an incredibly cheap apartment just outside of the city centre. This apartment came in at £16 per night! Yes. For both of us! Just £8 each! Not only did we get a spacious AC apartment, it came with a large balcony and the use of the pool! It took us around 30 minutes to get into the city which required a bus, the train and the underground which was all fun and games, especially our first day trying to figure everything out! I’ll link you to the listing here.

I Residence Hotel, Silom

After exploring Chiang Mai we headed back to Bangkok to catch our flight to New Zealand and opted for a budget hotel seems as it was only for one night! I generally tend to stay away from hotels as I feel they lack character but when it is only for one night, who can complain! We originally found this hotel on booking.com at a fairly good price, but when approaching the desk, the price almost doubled because the discount was an online exclusive offer only! I Residence hotel comes with a rather overpriced bar but a stunning infinity pool which was hard to get out of as you can imagine! A night here for a double room came in at £25 per night (ish!)

We pushed aside Airbnb this time and the day we were leaving Bangkok to catch the overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai I started to google some guest houses and found our little gem in the form of a YouTube review! Got to love YouTube!! The video sold it to us and we noted down the address and got super excited! When we arrived we were blown away with Thaphae Garden; the pool, the staff and our VERY clean room! For a fan room in low season, a double only set us back £8 per night (yes, just £4 each!) and we will DEFINITELY stay here again on our next visit!!
